§ 9.25.005  CLOSING TIMES FOR PARKS.
   (A)   For the purpose of this section, the following definitions shall apply.
      DUSK.  The time of day immediately following sunset.
      PARK.  Any village owned play field, pool, pond, recreation center, playground or any other area or property devoted to active or passive recreation.
   (B)   It shall be unlawful for any person to go or be in or upon any village park from dusk until sunrise.
   (C)   It shall be unlawful for any vehicle to be parked in a village park from dusk until sunrise.
   (D)   The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to purchase and install any and all necessary signs to implement the provisions of this section and to provide adequate notice regarding the regulations contained herein.

§ 9.25.010  AUTHORIZING THE USE OF VILLAGE OWNED PICNIC TABLES.
   (A)   The Village of Gardner will allow the use of the Village of Gardner picnic tables to residents of the Village of Gardner for use within the corporate limits of the Village of Gardner upon the following conditions:
      (1)   Requests for use of the picnic tables shall be placed on the agenda at a Village Council meeting prior to the date the tables will be borrowed;
      (2)   The tables shall be loaned on a first come/first serve basis;
      (3)   A damage deposit shall be required in the amount of $150 per table borrowed;
      (4)   In the event there is any damage to the tables including defacing of the tables, that the deposit on the table will be immediately forfeited and the resident shall be permitted to retain the damaged or defaced table;
      (5)   The tables will be loaned for no more than a three-day period;
      (6)   The tables shall not be loaned during the Gardner Days celebration;
      (7)   The village resident shall sign a receipt at the time of picking up the tables verifying the condition of the tables; and
      (8)   It is requested that the village resident who borrows the tables make a donation to the Gardner Days Fund as consideration for the use of the Village of Gardner picnic tables.
   (B)   This section shall be published in pamphlet form and shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as required by law.

§ 9.25.015  PARKS AND SCHOOL WITHIN VILLAGE SAFE ZONE.
   (A)   The Village of Gardner supports and enforces the enhanced penalties of the state criminal laws for activities that occur within school zones or within 1,000 feet of the school zone.
   (B)   The Village of Gardner hereby declares all parks and schools within the village limits to be safe zones as protected by the Illinois Criminal Code and that these areas shall be monitored with particular scrutiny and that the Village of Gardner shall seek to enforce the aforementioned provisions by all means at its disposal.
