1-9-4: REVENUE NEUTRAL CONVENIENCE FEES:
When any payment is made for any fee charged by the City in a medium other than cash, check or money order, which is delivered in person or by the United States Postal Service to City Hall, the City shall charge a revenue neutral convenience fee of five percent (5%) of the gross transaction. This revenue neutral convenience fee shall be charged on, but not necessarily limited to, credit card payments, online payments, electronic transfer payments or on payments made by telephone. The City Clerk is authorized to enter into an agreement with a reputable agency that handles revenue neutral convenience fee transactions for collection of the fee. In the event this fee is increased or decreased, such change may be done by simple resolution. (1984 Code § 1-11-4)
