The city council may, at any time deemed necessary for the welfare and safety of the residents of the city, order placed in use on any intersection, street or alley within the corporate limits of the city temporary regulatory traffic signs. Such signs shall have the full force and effect during the time they are on the streets or alleys of any regulatory signs the same as though they were permanently installed signs. (1984 Code § 10-1-9)
