6-1-4-1: PARKING RESTRICTIONS:
   A.   Prohibited Vehicles, Exceptions: It is unlawful for any person to park any tractor, truck, recreational vehicle, camper, camper trailer, utility trailer, watercraft trailer, toy hauler, mobile home, motor home, doublewide, trailer house or semitrailer on the streets or street right of way. Temporary parking will be allowed, but only during such time as the vehicle is being loaded or unloaded and in no event to exceed twenty four (24) hours. In the event loading is going to exceed twenty four (24) hours, the driver shall notify the city clerk or the chief of police and will park the vehicle in such a manner as to minimize the impact on the flow of traffic. In the event any law enforcement officer determines that the parked vehicle constitutes a hazard to persons or property, the officer has the authority to order the driver to remove the truck from that location and refusal to do so shall be a violation of this subsection.
   B.   SW 3rd Street: There shall be no parking on SW 3rd Street from two thirty o'clock (2:30) A.M. to six o'clock (6:00) A.M. Any vehicle in violation of this subsection will be subject to immediate tow at the owner's expense without the person towing said vehicle incurring any liability of any kind.
   C.   Interference With Sweeping Or Snow Removal: It is unlawful for any person to hinder, interfere with, delay or obstruct any person engaged in street sweeping or snow removal for the city. It shall be unlawful for any person to park a motor vehicle of any description, any trailer or boat, recreational vehicle, utility trailer, watercraft trailer, toy hauler or leave any other obstruction adjacent to, upon, in or on a right of way, in such a manner as to interfere with the street sweeping or snow removal by the city.
   D.   Parking When Supported: It is unlawful for any person to park any tractor, truck, recreational vehicle, camper, camper trailer, utility trailer, watercraft trailer, toy hauler, mobile home, motor home, doublewide, trailer house or semitrailer on the paved portion of any street or street right of way, when that unit is supported by a jack, footing, prop, brace, lever or other support that causes steel to rest directly upon the pavement.
   E.   Driving Through Parking Areas: It is unlawful for any person to drive through or cross any privately owned parking lot which is open to the public for the purpose of avoiding a red light, a stop sign or any other traffic control device, or for the purpose of taking a shortcut to an adjoining property when the public roadway provides access.    F.   Parking After Notification To Remove: It is unlawful for any person to leave any tractor, truck, recreational vehicle, camper, camper trailer, utility trailer, watercraft trailer, toy hauler, doublewide, trailer house or semitrailer on any street or street right of way after the owner, driver or person in control thereof shall be notified orally or in writing by the chief of police or his designee to remove the vehicle from that location.    G.   School Area On South Iowa Avenue: Parking in that portion of South Iowa Avenue located between the north and south entrances to the high school gymnasium parking lot shall be and is hereby restricted to school bus parking only. No other vehicles shall be permitted to park in that area and any person who parks a motor vehicle in that location shall be guilty of a parking infraction. The chief of police or his designee is hereby authorized and directed to erect signs at the north and south entrances which signs shall read "School Bus Parking Only". The school bus parking only signs shall be notice to all persons of the parking restriction. (Ord. 572, 10-14-2013)
