§ 92.04 PLACEMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF FIRE HYDRANTS.
   The Fire Chief shall consult with the Town Manager and Director of Public Works on the placement and maintenance of fire hydrants. The maintenance policies and practices adopted according to this section shall specify a minimum clear space of at least three feet by three feet around and at least 18 inches from ground level around each fire hydrant. Where a hydrant is placed on private property, the property owner must keep the area around the hydrant clear, as listed above. Citizens should take notice that, if for any reason it becomes necessary for town employees to clear around a hydrant area, that the town will not be responsible for damage to plantings, structures, or other objects left within the area required to be kept clear pursuant to this section.
