8-4-1: FIRE LIMITS:
   A.   Definition: The fire limits of the village shall consist of all areas within the boundaries of the village. (Village Code § 10-6)
   B.   Exteriors: Except for single-family dwellings, it shall be unlawful to construct or erect any buildings or parts thereof within the fire limits unless the exterior walls and roof of such building or structure are covered or constructed of nonflammable materials; provided, that this shall not operate to prohibit the construction of temporary, one-story buildings for the use of builders during construction of the fireproof structure, wooden fences not over eight feet (8') high, piazzas or balconies not exceeding ten feet (10') in width or extending more than three feet (3') above the second story beams, bay windows when covered with incombustible material; or for workers engaged thereon during construction, small outhouses not exceeding one hundred fifty (150) square feet in area nor eight feet (8') in height.    C.   Repairs: Except for single-family dwellings, it shall be unlawful to repair an existing frame building within the village fire limits after the same shall be damaged by any cause to the extent of fifty percent (50%) of its value at the time of destruction, unless such building is made to conform to the provisions of subsection B of this section.
