There is hereby established a division, within the building department, which shall be known as the electrical inspection division. Such division shall be the electrical inspection division of the village authorized by statute. Said division shall consist of the director of public health and safety and such other employees as may, from time to time, be appointed by the village council. Such electrical inspection division shall be charged with the duty of enforcing the provisions of this chapter; the rules and regulations thereof; and the standards and specifications for the installation, alteration and use of electrical equipment as herein provided, including the national electrical code adopted in section 8-1-1 of this title.
