For purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall be given the respective definitions set forth below:
COMMERCIAL CUSTOMER: Any customer connecting to the village water system and purchasing water from the village for commercial purposes whether or not the connection or tap in is to a location zoned for commercial purposes so long as any portion of such location is used for commercial purposes.
CONNECTION FEE: Charge imposed by the village for connection or tap in to the village water system as set forth in subsection 7-4-4
A of this chapter.
CUSTOMER: A person who receives water and sewer service at a location within the village corporate limits.
DISCONTINUATION FEE: Charge imposed by the village for discontinuance of village water and sewer service to any customer as set forth in subsection 7-4-10F of this chapter.
INDUSTRIAL CUSTOMER: Any customer connecting to the village water system and purchasing water from the village for industrial purposes whether or not the connection or tap in is to a location zoned for industrial purposes, so long as any portion of such location is used for industrial purposes; and, any cemetery located in whole or in part within the village boundaries and purchasing water from the village.
INSTITUTIONAL CUSTOMER: Any customer connecting to the village water system and purchasing water from the village for institutional purposes other than institutions funded by ad valorem taxes.
MULTI-FAMILY CUSTOMER: Any customer connecting to the village water system and purchasing water from the village for use within any structure used for residential purposes and containing more than two (2) dwelling units.
NEW APPLICANT: A person who applies for provision of water and sewer service to a location within the village's corporate limits.
PERSON: A natural person, corporation, real estate trust, partnership, association or other legal entity.
RECONNECTION FEE: Charge imposed by the village for reconnection to the village water system after discontinuation of service for any reason for any period of time as set forth in subsection 7-4-4B of this chapter.
RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMER: Any customer connecting to the village water system and purchasing water from the village for residential purposes within a structure with one or two (2) dwelling units and institutions funded by ad valorem taxes.
SATISFACTORY CREDIT: Any customer with credit references sufficient to borrow funds from a statewide lending institution.
SENIOR CITIZEN CUSTOMER: Any customer connecting to the village water system at a location utilized as such customer's primary residence and which location has been granted a senior citizens homestead exemption pursuant to section 15-170 of the property tax code 1 . (Ord. O-56-01, 12-17-2001)
