A. General: All officers, other than elective officers, shall be appointed by the village council as is provided by statute. Other employees shall be employed in the manner provided by statute or ordinance.
B. Oath: Before assuming his duties, every officer shall take the oath provided by statute 1 . (Village code § 2-19)
C. Term Of Office: Every appointive officer shall hold office until May 1 following his appointment, or until his appointment, or until his successor is appointed and qualified, unless otherwise provided by ordinance. Vacancies in an office shall be filled in the same manner as appointments are made. (Village code § 2-20)
