A. License And Compliance Required: No person, firm or corporation shall conduct a raffle without having first obtained a license pursuant to this chapter. Each raffle shall be authorized by a license issued pursuant to this chapter, and shall be conducted in accordance with the provisions of this chapter. The foregoing notwithstanding, the provisions of this chapter shall not apply to political committees for which a raffle license has been issued by the Illinois state board of elections pursuant to section 8.1 of the raffles act. B. Authority To Issue: The village clerk, or his/her designee(s), shall have the authority to issue licenses for raffles subject to prior approval by the Village Council and subject to those additional limitations set forth in this chapter.
C. Jurisdiction: A license issued by the village shall authorize the sale of raffle chances only within the boundaries of the village. (Ord. O-30-20, 9-28-2020)
