A. Powers And Duties: The commissioner of public health and safety shall have jurisdiction over and supervision of the building department, the code hearing department and all other inspectors not otherwise assigned. He shall be in charge of and have supervision and direction over all officers and employees of said departments and of all officers and employees charged with any duties concerning the matters and things assigned to his department. He shall be consulted on all purchases for, and have charge of, motor vehicles, apparatus, officers, employees and all supplies of said departments except such as are otherwise specially assigned. B. Rules: The commissioner of health and safety shall make and enforce such rules and regulations not inconsistent with the law or ordinances as may be necessary to secure efficient conduct of the service of his department and the business thereof. (Village code § 1-54; amd. Ord. O-36-04, 9-13-2004)
