A. Election, Term: The mayor and commissioners shall be elected, and hold office, for such term as is provided by law 1 . (Village code § 1-5)
B. Bond: Before entering upon the duties of their respective offices, the mayor and each commissioner shall execute a bond in a penal sum not less than three thousand dollars ($3,000.00), with good and sufficient security, to be approved by the judge of the county court of Cook County, and conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties of the office and the payment of all monies received by such officer, according to law and the ordinances of the village. (Village code § 1-4)
C. Oath And Compensation: The several commissioners and the mayor shall take the oath of office prescribed by law, and shall receive such compensation as determined by ordinance passed in accordance with the laws of this state. (Village code § 1-6)
