AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7-4-7 OF THE VILLAGE CODE
OF THE VILLAGE OF FOREST PARK WITH RESPECT TO
WATER AND SEWER RATES AND CHARGES
WHEREAS, the Village of Forest Park (“Village”) desires to amend the Village Code with respect to water and sewer rates and charges in light of notice received by the Village from the City of Chicago of its intent to raise its wholesale water rate five percent (5%) beginning on June 1, 2023.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of Forest Park, Cook County, Illinois, as follows:
Section 1. The recitals set forth in the preamble are hereby incorporated herein by reference and made a part of this Ordinance.
Section 2. That Section 7-4-7, entitled “Water and Sewer Rates and Charges,” of Chapter 4, entitled “Water System Regulations,” of Title 7, entitled “Public Ways and Property,” of the Code of the Village of Forest Park is hereby amended as follows:
7-4-7: WATER AND SEWER RATES AND CHARGES:
A. Water Rates: The following rates for the Village's provision of water and sewer service are established for each one hundred (100) cubic feet of water transmitted, except industrial/commercial large meter customers, which rate is established for each one thousand (1,000) cubic feet of water transmitted, based upon meter readings:

Section 3. The corporate authorities of the City intend that this Ordinance will be made part of the City Code and that sections of this Ordinance can be renumbered or relettered and can be changed to “Section,” “Article,” Chapter” or some other appropriate word or phrase to accomplish codification, and typographical errors can be corrected with the authorization of the City Attorney, or his or her designee.
Section 4. All parts of the City Code in conflict with the terms or provisions of this Ordinance shall be and the same are hereby amended or repealed to the extent of such conflict, and said City Code and all other existing ordinances shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
Section 5. If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance or any part thereof is, for any reason, held to be unconstitutional or invalid or ineffective by any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity or effectiveness of the remaining portions of this Ordinance, or any part thereof. The corporate authorities hereby declare that they would have passed each section, subsection, subdivision, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase thereof irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, subdivisions, paragraphs, sentences, clauses or phrases be declared unconstitutional, invalid or ineffective.
Section 6. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and approval as provided by law.
