§ 48-5  MOTORBOAT TO HAVE OBSERVER ON BOARD WHEN TOWING SKIER; EXCEPTION.
   No person shall operate on any waterway a motorboat having in tow or otherwise assisting a person on water skis, water sled, aquaplane or other similar contrivance, unless there is in the motorboat, in addition to the operator, at least one competent person in a position to observe the progress of the person being towed. The provisions of this section shall not apply to motorboats used by duly constituted ski schools in the giving of instructions, or to motorboats used in sanctioned ski tournaments, competitions, expositions or trials therefor, or to motorboats equipped with not less than a 170-degree wide-angle rear view mirror affixed in such a manner as will permit the operator to observe the progress of the person being towed.
