Before any house, structure, or building meeting the requirements of this subchapter is moved into or within the city, the person, business, or entity desiring to move the house, structure, or building shall apply for, pay for, and obtain a moving permit and a building permit from the city as hereinafter provided. The building permit shall be obtained by the applicant from the city’s Building Inspector in accordance with §§ 150.001 and 150.002 and other applicable ordinances, codes, rules, and regulations of the city. The moving permit for manufactured housing units and storage buildings shall be obtained from the City Secretary. The moving permit for commercial buildings shall be approved by the city’s Board of Adjustments and Appeals as defined in §§ 150.001 and 150.002 and obtained from its designee. No moving or building permit shall be issued if the house, building, or structure, its location, or its use fails to meet all of the city’s zoning ordinances, building codes, other ordinances, rules, and regulations.
In addition, any person, business, or entity involved in a move shall produce evidence satisfactory to the city prior to the issuance of a moving permit that he, she, or it has met all insurance, permit, and other requirements of the state in connection with the anticipated move. Any move shall further be approved by and coordinated with the city’s Director of Public Safety.
