§ 70.99 PENALTY.
   (A)   General. Whenever in this title an act is prohibited or is made or declared to be unlawful or an offense or a misdemeanor, or wherever in this title the doing of any act is required or the failure to do any act is declared to be unlawful, and no specific penalty is otherwise provided in this code of ordinances, the violation shall be punished by a fine as set by City Council ordinance; provided, however, that no penalty shall be greater or less than the penalty provided for the same or a similar offense of the laws of the state.
   (B)   Continuing violations. Each day a violation of this code or of any ordinance continues shall constitute a separate offense.
   (C)   Traffic-control signs and devices. Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of § 70.02 of this code or shall fail to comply therewith, or with any of the requirements thereof, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined in any sum as set by City Council ordinance; and each violation, or failure to comply, shall constitute a separate and distinct offense.

   (D)   Trucks. Any person, business, or corporation violating any provision of § 70.03 of this code shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined in any sum as set by City Council ordinance, and each violation shall constitute a separate and distinct offense.

   (E)   Speed limits. Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of § 70.04 or Ch. 72, Sched. II of this code, or shall fail to comply therewith, or with any of the requirements thereof, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined in any sum as set by City Council ordinance; and each violation or failure to comply shall constitute a separate and distinct offense.

   (F)   Unreasonable acceleration. Any person who shall violate any term or provision of § 70.05 of this code shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon a final conviction, shall be fined a sum as set by City Council ordinance.
