SECTION 2. QUALIFICATIONS.
   No person shall be eligible to be a member of Council, unless that person shall have been continuously a resident and a qualified elector of the City of Fairview Park for two (2) years immediately prior to their election or appointment. In addition to the foregoing requirements, no person shall be eligible to be a member of Council, elected from a ward, unless that person shall have been continuously a resident and qualified elector of such ward for one (1) year immediately prior to their election or appointment.
   No person shall serve as a member of Council unless during their term of office they shall continue to be a resident and a qualified elector of the City of Fairview Park, and if elected or appointed from a ward, shall be and continue to be a resident of such ward. The Council member shall not hold any other municipal office or municipal employment in this City except as otherwise provided in this Charter, and except that of Notary Public. The Council member shall forfeit his office as Council member, or President of Council, in the event the Council member is called to full-time military service for a period exceeding thirty (30) consecutive days. The Council member shall not be interested in the profits or emoluments of any contract with, or job, work or service for the City. Any member who shall cease to possess any of the qualifications herein required shall forthwith forfeit their office, and any such contract in which any member is or may become interested may be declared void by the Council.
