§ 36.091 UTILITY LATE CHARGES.
   In the event a city utility customer tenders payment of a city utility bill with a check payable to the city which is returned unpaid to the city by the bank upon which the check is drawn, the city utility customer shall also pay the late penalty added to the customer’s utility bill under §§ 52.051, 53.053 and 54.084 of this code when the customer’s city utility account becomes delinquent, in addition to the service charge provided in this chapter. The tender of a check in payment of a customer’s city utility account shall not be considered a timely payment of the customer’s utility account when the check tendered to the city is later returned unpaid by the bank on which the check is drawn for payment.
