§ 71.12 DOORS IN SIDEWALKS.
   (A)   Doors in sidewalks used to cover an opening for an elevator, stairway, or chute shall be kept in such condition that they will not endanger persons or property, and it shall be unlawful for any person owning or being in charge or control of any such doors in sidewalks or other openings in the sidewalk leading to the basement to permit such doors to remain open except when such elevator, stairway, or chute is being used for loading, unloading, or transferring merchandise or material.
   (B)   The requirements of this section shall be in addition to, and not in lieu of, any other laws of the city pertaining to doors or other openings in sidewalks.
