A certificate authorizing the issuance of a contractor's electrical license shall be granted only to persons who:
(a) Have a minimum of five years' general experience in installing electrical wiring and equipment, or the equivalent thereof in training or education;
(b) Hold a license from a City which has an examining board (such as Cleveland).
(b) A permit authorizing a firm or corporation to install work for which a license is required shall be issued only to a licensed responsible member, officer or employee of such firm or corporation, on record as such with the Commissioner of Buildings.
No provision of this code shall be interpreted to require that a registered installer of heating systems, air-conditioning systems, air-cooling systems, or refrigerating systems, or other similar systems, shall be licensed under the provisions of this chapter in order to install, or to secure permits to install, any equipment forming part of such systems when such equipment requires no plumbing work other than a water connection or connections and a waste connection or connections discharging as an indirect waste over an open sink, floor drain or other similar open receptacle, or to install such indirect waste connections is made by or under the direct supervision of the registrant and in conformity with the provisions of this Code and rules and regulations promulgated thereunder, and that all permits, inspections and approvals required by this Code are secured.
A certificate authorizing the issuance of a master plumber's license shall be granted only to persons who:
(a) Have held a journeyman plumber's license for at least five years, during which period the applicant was engaged in the installation of plumbing work, or the direction thereof, or who have had training or education in a recognized trade school, college or university, and experience in the making or directing of plumbing installations under the supervision of a licensed master plumber, which is equivalent to five years' experience in the trade;
(b) Hold a license from a City which has an examining board (such as Cleveland).
Contractors registered under this chapter shall be required to obtain and maintain in full force during the period of registration with the City liability insurance in the following amounts: one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) bodily injury for each person; three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) bodily injury for each occurrence; and fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for property damage.
