1705.14 REGISTERED INSTALLER'S ELECTRICAL EXCEPTION.
   No provision of this Code shall be interpreted to require that a registered installer of heating systems, air-conditioning systems, air-cooling systems, or refrigerating systems, shall be licensed under the provisions of this chapter in order to do any of the following electrical work incidental to such installations, or to secure permits to do such electrical work, provided that such installations are made by or under the direct supervisions of the registrant and in conformity with the provisions of this Code and rules and regulations promulgated thereunder, and that all permits, inspections and approvals required by this Code are secured:
   (a)   In dwelling houses and individual row houses, for systems requiring motors of one horsepower or less;
      (1)   Installation of motors or other electrical equipment forming part of such systems;
      (2)   Installation of and electrical connections for controls, including thermostat limit controls, pilot light and ignition controls and other controls for the operation of systems;
      (3)   Installation of electrical power service connections to motors or controls forming part of such systems;
   (b)   In any building or structure, the replacement of electrical equipment forming part of such systems with equipment of like type and capacity for the purpose of maintenance of such systems, and the connections of existing electrical terminal connections to such replacement equipment.
