Pursuant to authority contained in Article V, Section 1, of the Charter, there is hereby created a Department of Planning and Development. This Department is established to coordinate all planning, community and economic development activity within the City, including, but not limited to, the welfare of residents, better use of available City land and resources, development of neighborhood and public facilities, development and implementation of programs towards solving the City's economic problems, stabilizing commercial and industrial areas and attracting new commerce and industry, administering the Planning and Zoning Division, and providing technical and administrative support to analyze and improve the housing stock in Euclid to define problem areas and to fight deterioration; to assist in the provision of services to the elderly; and to pursue Federal and State funding for City programs.
