1046.06   AMOUNT OF DEPOSITS; INTEREST; USE.
   (a)   New Service Deposits. Deposits, when required, shall be equivalent to the estimated usage bill for any two billing periods, but in no event less than one hundred seventy- five dollars ($175.00). Deposits secured from a customer shall be returned to the depositor after twenty-four months, provided the customer is not delinquent in any payment of his or her utility bill during that twenty-four-month period. Any customer having secured the return of a deposit shall not be required to make a new deposit unless the service has been discontinued or the customer's credit standing impaired through failure to comply with the rate schedule provisions. This amount of deposit may be changed from time to time by resolution of Borough Council.
   (b)   Temporary Service Deposits. Deposits required from customers taking service for a period of less than thirty days shall equal the estimated gross bill for such temporary period.
   (c)   Interest on Deposits. Deposit with the Borough shall not bear interest.
   (d)   Discontinuance of Service. Upon discontinuance of service, the Borough will apply any deposit then in its possession toward the final settlement of the customer's account and any remaining balance will be refunded to the customer.
