12-3-7: BLOCKS:
   A.   Dimension And Shape: The dimensions and shape of blocks shall consider the following:
      1.   Provision of adequate building sites suitable to the special needs of the type of use contemplated;
      2.   Zoning requirements (lot sizes and dimensions);
      3.   Convenient access, circulation, control and safety of street traffic; and
      4.   Limitations and opportunities of topography.
   B.   Length: Blocks for residential use shall not be longer than one thousand eight hundred feet (1,800'), measured along the centerline of the block.
   C.   Pedestrianways Or Crosswalks: Pedestrianways or crosswalks, not less than four feet (4') wide or more than ten feet (10') in width, may be required by the planning commission through the center of blocks more than eight hundred feet (800') long, where deemed essential to provide circulation or access to schools, playgrounds, shopping centers, transportation or other community facilities.
   D.   Width: Blocks used for residential purposes should be of sufficient width to allow for two (2) tiers of lots of appropriate depth. Blocks intended for business and industrial use should be of a width suitable for the intended use, with due allowance for off street parking and loading facilities.
