§ 96.26 DISPLAYS; GOODS GENERALLY; ANIMALS.
   (A)   No person shall place for display or sale any goods, wares or merchandise of any kind upon any of the sidewalks of the town when the display would extend out on the sidewalk, except as follows.
      (1)   Any person shall be permitted to use two and one-half feet of the sidewalk in front of his or her place of business, immediately adjoining and next to the building used as a place of business, for the purpose of exhibiting goods, wares and merchandise, but for no other purpose.
      (2)   Any goods, wares or merchandise displayed under this section shall be removed from the sidewalks at the closing hour each night and no portion of the goods, wares or merchandise shall be left on the sidewalks for a longer period.
   (B)   The Town Council may allow, by application of encroachment, the placement of street furniture, canopy support post, sandwich-board type signs and restaurant encroachments for dining purposes within the right-of-way of the Downtown Business District. It shall be the responsibility of the property owners or tenant, as applicable, to remove the same within one weeks notice by the Public Work Director to facilitate right-of-way repairs. Failure to comply with the rules on the encroachment application may result in the revocation of the encroachment permit.

   (C)   It shall be unlawful for any person to display or have displayed on sidewalks or streets any animal.
