373.11 BIKEPATH SAFETY.
   (a)   All bicyclists riding on the bikepath must comply with provisions as set forth in this chapter.
   (b)   The bikepath is to be used exclusively for bicycles and pedestrian traffic. No snowmobiles, mopeds or vehicular traffic is permitted. Any vehicle found in violation will be subject to the penalties as provided for a minor misdemeanor.
   (c)   The Director of Public Safety shall hold the right to promulgate any rules and regulations he deems necessary for use of the bikepath.
   (d)   Any person riding a bicycle shall yield the right of way in the following circumstances:
      (1)   At an intersection;
      (2)   To pedestrian traffic;
      (3)   When a vehicle is stopped to yield right of way to a pedestrian;
      (4)   When traffic is so close as to be a hazard.
   (e)   No bicycle shall be operated at any time faster than is reasonable or proper, and every bicycle shall be operated with reasonable regard to the safety of the rider and of other persons and property.
   (f)   Every person operating a bicycle shall strictly observe all traffic signs and signals and all other traffic rules and regulations, applicable thereto, and shall obey the orders and directions of every officer of the City authorized to direct or regulate traffic.
   (g)   Any person riding a bicycle shall, at all times, use due and proper care to uphold pedestrian safety.
   (f)   Any person found to be in violation of any provision of this section shall be subject to the penalty provision found in Section 373.99.
