Municipal Court
   EDITOR'S NOTE: The provisions of Ohio R.C. 1901.01 established the Willoughby Municipal Court which, pursuant to Ohio R.C. 1901.02, has territorial jurisdiction within the corporate limits of the municipalities of Eastlake, Wickliffe, Willowick, Willoughby, Willoughby Hills, Kirtland, Kirtland Hills, Waite Hill, Timberlake and Lakeline, and within Kirtland Township, in Lake County. The powers, duties and proceedings of the Court are established by Ohio R.C. Chapter 1901. Ohio R.C. 1901.25 provides that the Municipal Court may provide by rule how jurors shall be chosen. Jurors' fees in any criminal case involving the violation of a City ordinance shall be paid out of the City Treasury. The Municipal Court, pursuant to Ohio R.C. 1901.26(A), may establish a schedule of fees and costs to be taxed in any action or proceeding, whether civil or criminal. Ohio R.C. 1901.31(F) provides that fines received for violation of Eastlake ordinances shall be paid into the City Treasury. Rule 18 of the Rules Governing Procedure in Traffic Cases as promulgated by the Ohio Supreme Court provides that a court may establish a Traffic Violations Bureau and specifies certain restrictions as to the designated offenses and schedule of fines to be accepted as waiver payment in lieu of court appearance.
