(a) The Eastlake Community Development Committee (ECDC) is hereby created, with the purpose to advance, encourage and promote recreational opportunities and civic involvement within the city.
(b) The ECDC shall consist of seven (7) members approved by Council, unless specified otherwise, and shall consist of: one (1) member of Eastlake City Council who shall be Council liaison for a two (2) year appointment by the Council President, one (1) member from the Western Lake County Chamber of Commerce, one (1) member from the Eastlake Business Community, one (1) member from the Eastlake Port Authority, and three (3) Eastlake residents, to be appointed by City Council. Chairperson of ECDC may not be an elected official. All other members of the ECDC shall serve for a term of three (3) years. The ECDC may then appoint as many ad hoc members as it determines necessary who then shall serve for such term as designated in the motion for said appointment.
(c) The ECDC shall periodically recommend to City Council on a quarterly basis that certain recreational and civic events and activities be approved by City Council and the Mayor. The ECDC shall also periodically recommend to City Council and the Mayor that appropriations and transfer of funds be made necessary to accomplish the purpose for which the ECDC was created.
