132.09 OFFICERS DESIGNATED WITH POWERS TO INVESTIGATE FIRES.
   The Chief of the Division of Fire or his duly authorized representative member of the Division, or the Chief of the Division of Police or his duly authorized representative member are empowered to investigate fires in accordance with Ohio R.C. 737.27 which states as follows:
Ohio R.C. 737.27 Investigation of Fires. The legislative authority of a municipal corporation may invest any individual of the Fire or Police Department, and these individuals are in power, and the duty is imposed on these individuals to be present at all fires, investigate the cause thereof, examine witnesses, compel the attendance of witnesses and the production of books and papers, and to do and perform all other acts necessary to the effective discharge of such duties, and perform all other duties as required by State law.
   Additionally, any officer as herein spelled out, who has reasonable belief that a building is in danger of fire may enter such building for purpose of examination. Such officers as herein provided, have the authority to make arrests. The officer shall report his proceedings to the legislative authority at such times as are required.
