131.15 AUXILIARY POLICE UNIT; ESTABLISHED; FUND; APPLICATIONS; DUTIES.
   (a)   An Auxiliary Police Unit is hereby established consisting of the following positions:
      (1)   One Captain.
      (2)   Twenty-nine Patrolmen.
   (b)   The Auxiliary Police shall be under the direct jurisdiction of the Chief of Police- Director of Public Safety who may establish such rules and regulations as he deems necessary for the reasonable regulation of the unit.
   (c)   The uniform of the Auxiliary Police Unit shall differ from the Police Division uniform as authorized by the Chief of Police-Director of Public Safety.
   (d)   Applications for membership in the Auxiliary Police Unit shall be made to the Chief of Police-Director of Public Safety and shall be reviewed by the Lieutenant assigned responsibility for the Auxiliaries. No one shall become a member of the unit without the final approval of the Auxiliary Captain and Chief of Police and the Director of Public Safety.
   (e)   Basic duties of the Auxiliary Police Unit shall include traffic control, maintaining order at special events throughout the City and other duties as assigned by the Chief of Police- Director of Public Safety.

   (f)   A fee of eleven dollars and twenty-five cents ($11.25) per hour per man will be assessed for renters for non-City sponsored events (i.e., dances, weddings, etc.) which are held at the Eastlake Community Center and the J.F.K. Center. The number of officers for an event shall be determined by the Police Department based on the number of attendees and other factors. The fees are to be deposited into the General Fund. The Police Chief - Safety Director shall also have the option to waive any and all fees for the Auxiliary Police.
   (g)   Each Auxiliary Officer shall be compensated at the rate of nine dollars and twenty- five cents ($9.25) per hour worked. The Auxiliary Police Captain will receive additional compensation of one hundred dollars ($100.00) per month. The Auxiliary Police Captain shall complete payroll sheets for all of the Auxiliary Officers for hours worked and each Auxiliary will sign their payroll sheets. Auxiliary payroll shall be submitted to the Police Department bi-weekly.

   (h)   The Captain of the Auxiliary Police Unit, effective January 1, 1991, shall receive a wage of one hundred dollars ($100.00) per month to be paid from the Eastlake Auxiliary Police Unit Trust Fund.
