131.11 SALE OF UNCLAIMED PROPERTY.
   (a)   Except as provided by Ohio R.C. 4513.62 et seq., property unclaimed for a period of ninety days shall be sold by the Chief of Police, after giving due notice by advertisement, published once a week for three successive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in the County. Any proceeds from the sale shall be paid to the Director of Finance and credited to the General Fund.
   (b)   Upon the sale of any unclaimed or impounded property, if any of it was ordered removed to a place of storage or stored, or both, by or under the direction of the Chief of Police, any expenses or charges for such removal or storage, or both, and costs of sale, provided the same are approved by the Chief of Police, shall first be paid from the proceeds of the sale. Notice shall be given by registered mail, thirty days before the date of the sale, to the owner or mortgagee, or other lien holder, at their last known address.
   (c)   Property authorized to be sold shall be disposed of by the Chief of Police before January 2 and July 2 during each year.
