There is hereby created a Department of Public Service for the purpose of constructing, maintaining and repairing roads, streets, highways, sewers, drains, ditches, lighting, bridges, sidewalks, signs and for other services usually provided by such a department. The Department of Public Service shall consist of such employees as Council shall from time to time authorize, and shall on a biweekly basis report to Council on its activities, and shall in brief, report the status of all new or existing projects undertaken by contracting engineers or engineering firms employed by the City.
