(a) There shall be at least one flush water closet, lavatory basin, and bathtub or shower, properly connected to a water and sewer system in good working condition for each six persons residing within a rooming house, including members of the operator's family who share facilities. When rooms are let only to males, flush urinals may be substituted for not more than one-half the required water closets. All facilities shall be located within the rooming house as to be reasonably accessible from a common hall or passageway to all person sharing such facilities. Every lavatory basin and bathtub or shower shall be supplied with hot and cold water at all times.
(b) Every dwelling unit or rooming unit shall have two adequate, safe, unobstructed means of egress leading to safe and open space, without passage through another dwelling unit or rooming unit.
(c) Every provision of this chapter which applies to multiple dwellings and rooming houses shall also apply to hotels, tourist homes and rest or nursing homes.
(d) No child under eighteen years of age shall live or sleep in a rooming house unless he resides in a dwelling unit contained therein. No such child shall reside in a rooming unit.
(e) No occupant of a rooming house shall prepare or eat meals in a rooming house unless such meals are prepared or eaten in a dwelling unit contained therein.
