No sign, other than a sign erected by public authority, shall be erected or maintained in such a manner as to be, or purport to be, an imitation of a reasonable and official traffic control device or railroad graphic or signal or which attempts to direct the movement of traffic, or which hides from view or interferes with the effectiveness of any official traffic control devices or any railroad signs or signals, nor flashing or motion producing devices.
No sign, other than a stop sign erected by a public authority, shall use the word "stop" or "danger" or otherwise present or imply the need or requirement of stopping or caution or the existence of danger, or is likely to be confused with any sign displayed by public authority, or which is likely to interfere with, mislead or confuse traffic on a public highway.
