(a) Except as hereinafter provided, no person shall perform services as a master plumber, residential plumber, limited-premises plumber, master electrician, residential electrician, limited-premises electrician, master heating and air-conditioning installer, residential heating and air-conditioning installer or limited-premises heating and air-conditioning installer, unless he has made application for and been issued a license by the City pursuant to the provisions of this chapter.
(b) The license requirement contained in subsection (a) hereof need not be secured by persons under the following conditions:
(1) Any person performing trade services under the direct supervision of a person holding a valid master's license issued under this chapter.
(2) Any person performing trade services in and upon a dwelling unit in which he resides or who is constructing a dwelling unit to be occupied by himself as a residence and who has been issued all permits required by the ordinances of this City.
