751.24 RATES OF FARE; RECEIPTS.
   (a)   The maximum rates of fare for taxicabs shall be as follows:
      (1)   For the first one-half mile or fraction thereof, four dollars ($4.00).
      (2)   For each succeeding one-fifth mile, or fraction thereof, sixty cents ($.60).
                   (3)   For each taxicab employed by contract upon an hourly rate, seventy dollars ($70.00) per hour.
      (4)   For time spent waiting for customer, sixty cents ($.60) per minute.
      (5)   Four passengers shall ride for one fare; five or more passengers in taxicab shall be charged rates no more than five dollars ($5.00) for each extra passenger (over four).

   (b)   Public hacks may, upon request of passengers, accept employment on an hourly rental period. When a public hack is so employed the fare to be charged shall be computed from the time it leaves the nearest station of the owner to the time of returning to the station nearest the point of dismissal.
   (c)   Upon request of a passenger, the owner, driver, chauffeur or other person in charge or control of a public hack shall deliver to the person paying for the hire of the same at the time of such payment a receipt therefor upon a blank, the form of which is to be prescribed and approved by the Director of Public Safety. The receipt shall contain in legible type or writing the name of the owner, the driver's City license number, and other items for which a charge is made, the total amount paid and the date of payment.
