3-2-6: ISSUANCE OF LICENSE:
Upon the filing of the application prescribed in the preceding section, accompanied by the evidence thereby required, and upon the payment of the required license fee, the treasurer shall immediately deliver such application and accompanying documents to the clerk who thereupon shall issue and deliver to the applicant a license to carry on the business for which the applicant owns and holds subsisting licenses in respect to the same premises for which license is applied for, as provided in section 3-2-8 of this chapter. Provided however, that the clerk, in his discretion, may hold the application for license so delivered to him by the treasurer under this chapter until the next regular meeting of the council following his receipt of such application and accompanying documents, if any, when he shall submit such application and accompanying documents to the council, which may, in its discretion, decline to authorize such license if in the judgment of the council, it will be for the best interests of this city to refuse such license. Upon such refusal the license fee paid by the applicant and all documents filed by him, other than such application, shall be returned to the applicant. (Ord. 50, 4-23-1937)
