A. Creation: There is hereby created the Draper City Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee to act as an advisory committee on identifying issues faced by diverse groups and creating opportunities for an inclusive community within the city.
B. Duties: It shall be the duty of the committee to act in a voluntary and advisory capacity to the city regarding diversity, equality and inclusivity activities within the city, including, but not limited to:
1. Act as a liaison to inform the city of issues faced by diverse communities and groups.
2. Advocate and voice support for initiatives that cultivate an inclusive culture and stimulate socioeconomic equality for the greater community.
3. Create educational opportunities through guest lectures at local schools and community workshops to raise awareness of diversity, equality and inclusivity issues.
4. Host events for the greater community to celebrate and educate the public about various cultures and diverse groups.
5. Assist with developing resource materials related to topics of diversity, equality, and inclusivity for the city. (Ord. 1493, 6-15-2021)
