The chief of police and all other officers created under section 5-1-1 of this chapter shall execute a bond to the village in the penal sum of ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00), with good and sufficient securities to be approved by the president and board of trustees, conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties of his office 1 .
