During such time that the City Council determines that there is a water shortage, as evidenced by resolution of the City Council, no person or entity shall use water supplied by or through the city’s water system for the following:
(A) The watering of vegetation, expect that trees and shrubs may be watered with a handheld bucket, drip irrigation system, or approved low-volume irrigation system. No person shall use overhead sprinklers; watering or sprinkling of grass is prohibited;
(B) Hosing of buildings and pavement or other vehicle or pedestrian surfaces;
(C) Restaurants, motels, and other businesses which serve food or drink to the public shall post “drought notices” in a clearly conspicuous manner so that members of the public will be apprised of the water shortage. Water for drinking purposes may only be served upon request;
(D) Boat and vehicle washing is restricted to use of a bucket and hose with automatic shut-off nozzle, or a commercial car wash facility; and
(E) Operation of ornamental fountains is prohibited, unless equipped with a recirculation system and posted with a drought notice.
