Sec. 2-71. Powers and duties of Village Attorney.
   (a)   The Village Attorney shall:
      (1)   Prosecute or defend any and all actions to which the Village may be a party, or in which it may be interested, or which may be brought against, or by, any officer of the Village on behalf of the Village, or in the capacity of such person as an officer of the Village;
      (2)   Be the legal advisor of the Village, and render advice on all legal questions affecting the Village, whenever requested to do so by any Village official;
      (3)   Upon request by the President of the Board, reduce his opinion to writing;
      (4)   Draft or supervise the phraseology of any contracts, leases or other documents or instruments to which the Village may be a party;
      (5)   Draft ordinances and resolutions covering any subjects within the powers of the Village. (M.C. 1963, § 5.202, § 5.203, § 5.204)
