Sec. 18-6. Issuance or denial of taxicab company certificate of public convenience and necessity.
   (a)   If the Board of Trustees finds that further taxicab service in the Village is required by the public convenience and necessity and that the applicant is fit, willing and able to perform such public transportation and to conform to the provisions of this Chapter, then the Board of Trustees shall direct the Village Manager, upon compliance by applicant with the provisions of this Chapter, to issue a certificate stating the name and address of the applicant, the number of vehicles authorized under said certificate and the date of issuance; otherwise, the application shall be denied.
   (b)   If the Board of Trustees finds from the investigation and hearing that the public convenience and necessity justify the issuance of a certificate, it shall notify the applicant of its finding and within sixty (60) days thereafter, the applicant shall comply with the further provisions of this Chapter for the issuance of licenses for the vehicles to be operated.
   (c)   If the Board of Trustees finds from such investigation and hearing that the public convenience and necessity do not justify the issuance of a certificate, it shall forthwith notify the applicant of such finding. (Ord. 0-91-55, 12-16-91)
