(a) All excavations for building sewer installation or connection shall be adequately guarded with barricades and lights so as to protect the public from hazard. Streets, sidewalks, parkways, and other public property disturbed in the course of the work shall be restored in manner satisfactory to the village.
(b) At the time of issuance of a sewer permit or at any time thereafter, the village may require a sewer permit applicant to make a public street and parkway restoration deposit with the village for restoration of the public property to be disturbed in accordance with section 19-31 of this code.
(c) All excavations required for the installation of a building sewer shall be augered or bored unless otherwise approved by the director of public works and engineering. Pipe laying and backfill shall be performed in accordance with ASTM specification (C12-58-T) (or the most current ASTM designation), except that no backfill shall be placed until the work has been inspected.
