(a) As used in this article:
(1) Garbage: All animal and vegetable waste and all putrescible matter.
(2) Refuse: All combustible trash, including, but not limited to, paper, cartons, boxes, magazines, excelsior, suitable for deposit in a container as specified under this article, and noncombustible trash, including, but not limited to, metals, tin cans, glass bottles, crockery, articles of clothing, and other mineral and similar waste products suitable for deposit in a refuse container. Refuse shall also include ashes and cinders which must be placed in a disposable tightly covered container.
(3) Garden Waste: All yard trimmings, grass, leaves and similar materials suitable for deposit in garden waste containers as specified under this article. Garden waste shall include those branches and/or brush which can be loosely packed in garden waste containers as specified under this article.
(4) Miscellaneous Waste: All waste materials of a size which render them unsuitable for deposit in a refuse or garden waste container as specified under this article, including, but not limited to, furniture and appliances.
(5) Residential Dwellings: Single- and multi-family dwellings not exceeding two (2) dwelling units.
(6) Recyclable Materials: Materials which can be removed from refuse and recycled. Included are newsprint, aluminum and other types of cans, glass bottles and other items mutually agreed to by the village and the scavenger employed by the village.
(7) Construction Debris: Shall include, but not be limited to, wood, concrete, lumber and bricks.
(8) Condominium: A multi-family building containing more than two (2) dwelling units which has been submitted to the provisions of the Illinois condominium property act.
(9) Unit: When used in connection with "condominium", means an individual dwelling unit in a condominium intended for independent ownership, occupancy and use.
(10) Container: When used in connection with the term "containerized service", shall mean a covered, leakproof, large capacity metal container or dumpster provided for garbage disposal service to the owners or occupants of all units in a condominium building or of all units in an attached single-family or townhome building.
(11) Containerized Service: Garbage and refuse collection service provided to the owners and occupants of units in a condominium building, or in an attached single-family or townhome building, using large capacity containers with a sufficient volume to contain all garbage and refuse placed for disposal by the owners or occupants of the dwelling units to be served by such containers between regularly scheduled collections.
(12) Townhome: A single-family dwelling unit in a building containing three (3) or more residential dwelling units which are primarily connected horizontally by a common wall.
