(a) It shall be the duty of all contractors to comply with this code and all ordinances relating to the construction of buildings or other structures, to the construction of street or sidewalk pavements, and all laws or ordinances pertaining to or regulating the activities engaged in.
(b) No person registered under the provisions of this article shall install any electrical appliances, wiring or fixtures without strict compliance with this code and the ordinances relating to such fixtures.
(c) No person shall do any work without having obtained such permits as may be required.
(d) Homeowners are permitted to perform plumbing, roofing, electrical, general contractor, concrete, and excavation work on any owner-occupied residence owned by them without registering under this Article. Homeowners are not permitted to perform any irrigation RPZ (backflow prevention) work without first registering under this Article.
(e) Applications submitted by electrical contractors must be accompanied with proof that the applicant holds a valid electrical license obtained by passing an electrical contractor exam through an approved Illinois municipality or through the International Code Council or other similar duly authorized licensing agency.
(f) Applications submitted by plumbing contractors must be accompanied with proof that the applicant holds a valid 055 IDPH plumber's license and a valid 058 IDPH plumber's license.
(g) Applications submitted by irrigation contractors must be accompanied with proof that the applicant holds a valid 060 IDPH plumber's license and a valid cross-connect license issued by the State of Illinois
(h) Applications submitted by roofing contractors must be accompanied with proof that the applicant holds a valid roofing license issued by the State of Illinois. (1963 Code § 17.204; amd. Ord. 0-22-41, 11-21-2022)
