Sec. 7-37. Registration Certificate:
   (a)   Registration Certificate Required: No person may engage in the business of a contractor within the Village without having first secured a certificate of registration from the Village.
   (b)   Application: Applications for a contractor registration certificate must be made to the Director of Community Development, or designee. (1963 Code § 17.201)
   (c)   Certificate Issuance: Upon the filing of an application in proper form and the payment of the registration fee set forth in section 7-38 of this code, the Director of Community Development, or designee, will issue a registration certificate to the applicant, which will authorize the applicant to engage in the business of a contractor for the year in which it is issued.
   (d)   The Director of Community Development, or designee, will maintain a list of all contractors registered with the Village.
   (e)   Any registration issued under this article may be revoked by the village president by and with the advice and consent of the board of trustees for repeated violations of this article.
   (f)   Any person doing business as a subcontractor shall be construed as engaged in the business of a building contractor for which registration is required by this article. (Ord. 0-82-36, 7-19-1982; amd. Ord. 0-21-26, 7-19-2021; Ord. 0-22-41, 11-21-2022)
