§ 97.54  TREES AND SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS.
   (A)   Damage to sidewalks is in itself not sufficient reason to remove a tree, if present damage can be adequately corrected and future damage can be averted by selective pruning of roots, installation of tree guards, or by sidewalk repair, replacement or realignment.
   (B)   Nor is convenience and efficiency during street or sidewalk repair or placement sufficient reason in itself for tree removal.
   (C)   Wherever possible, the installation, repair and replacement of sidewalks shall accommodate trees and shall be done in a manner that prevents damage to their roots.
