All police officers and firefighters, including cadets, but excluding the Police Chief, Deputy Police Chief, the Fire Chief, and the Assistant Fire Chief, shall receive overtime at the rate of one and a half times their hourly rate of pay for time worked in excess of 40 hours per week for the Police Department and in excess of the hours prescribed in Section 244.02 for the Fire Department. This rate shall be deemed the regular hourly rate as such term is used in the Fair Labor Standards Act.
