254.12 HOLIDAYS AND PERSONAL DAYS.
   (a)   The employees named in subsections (e) and (f) hereof shall be allowed additional pay, calculated on base pay, inclusive of longevity, during any calendar year for either two personal days and/or the following twelve holidays:
 
Presidents' Day
Veterans' Day
Good Friday
Thanksgiving Day
Easter Sunday
The day after Thanksgiving
Memorial Day
Christmas Eve
Fourth of July
Christmas Day
Labor Day
New Year's Day
 
   The entitlement to either holidays or personal days shall be as specified in subsection (e) or (f) hereof.
   (b)   The holidays and/or personal days to be taken by an employee shall be determined by the head of the department in which the employee is employed. In the event that any such employee, other than a member of the Police and Fire Departments listed in paragraphs (e)(7) and (e)(8) hereof, is required to work on any of the foregoing holidays or on personal days, he or she may be allowed equivalent time off by his or her department head for each such holiday or personal day that he or she is required to work. However, no more than three such days off shall be added to the regular vacation period allowed such employee. If such employee listed in subsection (e) hereof is required to work on any of the aforesaid holidays or personal days and is not given equivalent time off, he or she shall be paid his or her base pay, inclusive of longevity, for such holidays or personal days in addition to the holiday or personal day pay provided for in this section.
   (c)   Members of the Police and Fire Department will be paid according to the union contract.
   (d)   The Administrative Assistant to the Mayor, the Administrative Assistant to Village Hall, the Administrative Assistant to the Chief and Police Services, and the Administrative Accounting Assistant shall have the option to choose either the time off from work on the Friday before or the Monday following a weekend holiday or the holiday paid at the employee's overtime rate of pay.
   (e)   The foregoing holiday benefits shall be paid to the following employees:
      (1)   The Administrative Assistant to the Mayor;
      (2)   The Administrative Accounting Assistant;
      (3)   The Administrative Assistant to the Chief and Police Services;
      (4)   The full-time and part-time Clerk/Dispatchers hired prior to May 11, 2005;
      (5)   Full-time members of the Service Department, excluding the Service Director and Assistant Service Director;
      (6)   Full-time members of the Police and Fire Union as agreed upon in the union contracts;
      (7)   The Administrative Assistant to Village Hall.
   (f)   The foregoing personal day benefits shall be paid to the following employees:
      (1)   Members of the Police Department, including the Police Chief, and the Deputy Police Chief;
      (2)   The Fire Chief and Assistant Fire Chief/Fire Inspector;
      (3)   The Administrative Assistant to the Mayor;
      (4)   The Administrative Accounting Assistant;
      (5)   The Administrative Assistant to the Chief and Police Services;
      (6)   The full-time Clerk/Dispatchers and part-time Clerk/Dispatchers hired prior to May 11, 2005; and
      (7)   All full-time members of the Service Department, including the Service Director and the Assistant Service Director;
      (8)   Chief Fiscal Officer; and
      (9)   Administrative Assistant to Village Hall.
   (g)   The following employees shall be entitled to time off only on the foregoing holidays, provided that the holiday falls on a regularly scheduled work day:
      (1)   The Police Chief;
      (2)   The Fire Chief;
      (3)   The Service Director and Assistant Service Director;
      (4)   The Assistant Fire Chief/Fire Inspector;
      (5)   The Deputy Police Chief; and
      (6)   Chief Fiscal Officer.
   (h)   Holiday and personal day benefits shall not be paid to seasonal or part-time employees (less than forty hours per week) who are paid on an hourly basis and who are not included in subsection (e) hereof.
