1329.13 WATER-COOLED AIR CONDITIONING.
   (a)    Application for permits for air conditioning units shall be made to the Department of Building and Zoning Inspection and shall contain the name and address of the applicant, the location of the premises where the unit is or is to be installed, the manufacturer of the unit, the manufacturer's maximum rating as to capacity of the unit in BTU's of refrigeration and the refrigeration temperatures involved in these ratings and the horsepower required under maximum anticipated summer operating conditions. In no case shall the rated capacity of the refrigeration unit in BTU's be considered less than the name plate horsepower of the driving equipment. In the absence of the required manufacturer's maximum rating as to capacity of the unit in BTU's of refrigeration, the Building Official may specify the tonnage of the refrigeration unit by using the nameplate horsepower of the driving unit. The manufacturer's identifying classification and data on the refrigeration unit shall also be included on the application.
   (b)    The Building Official shall secure an approval from the Superintendent of the Water Division where water is used in the cooling system, and shall not issue permits for the same if, in the opinion of the Superintendent, an excessive amount of water is being used and if the methods of cooling in order to conserve water are not sufficient and he, for the above reasons, should decline to approve the installation.
